C A R T E R
Luke Carter is a British artist living since 2018 in Leipzig, Germany. He studied in Bristol, UK, receiving a Degree in illustration . As of early 2023, He has also completed a Diploma in Painting and Printmaking at the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts.
His artistic practice includes linoleum and woodcut printmaking , oil and acrylic painting, drawing and murals. Thematically, he often works with themes of sexuality, queerness and masculinity. In addition, ideas around family, childhood and mental health also appear in his images.
Luke Carter ist ein britischer Künstler, der seit 2018 in Leipzig lebt. Er studierte in Bristol, Großbritannien, und erhielt einen Abschluss in Illustration. Seit Anfang 2023 absolviert er zudem ein Diplom in Malerei/Grafik an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, Leipzig.
Seine künstlerische Praxis umfasst Linol- und Holzschnittdrucke, Öl- und Acrylmalerei, Zeichnungen und Wandmalereien. Thematisch arbeitet er oft mit Themen wie Sexualität, Queerness und Männlichkeit. Darüber hinaus tauchen in seinen Bildern auch Ideen rund um Familie, Kindheit und psychische Gesundheit auf.

Printing workshop with young people in WERK 2, Leipzig.
